Overview of achivements
Achievements are rewards that users earn by completing specific actions. They serve to motivate and incentivize customers, turning everyday tasks into engaging challenges. Many people enjoy collecting achievements and showcasing them to others, adding a social and competitive element. When a reward is on the line, people are more likely to participate and complete the tasks.
Achivements Core Concepts
Achievements have several features that are important to understand in order to use them effectively.
Tiers
All achivements have a tier. Tiers create a hierarchy where each level represents increasing value, quality, or achievement. The most common tiers that people are familiar with are Bronze, Silver, and Gold. However, you can configure the tiers in any way you like—for example, adding a Diamond tier after Gold or only using Silver and Gold. Different tiers grant different point rewards.
For example: Bronze – 50 points, Silver – 100 points, and Gold – 150 points.
In the self-serve setup, the Bronze–Silver–Gold tier structure is pre-configured and works out of the box.
Parent/Child relationsships
If you want achievements to be completed in a specific order, you can use a parent/child relationship. For example:
Buy 1 of product X → Bronze Buy 3 of product X → Silver Buy 5 of product X → Gold
In this case, Bronze is the parent of Silver, and Silver is the parent of Gold: Bronze → Silver → Gold. The Silver tier will not be available for the user to unlock until Bronze is unlocked. Similarly, Gold will only become available once Silver is unlocked.
